Sri Lanka Under-19 struggled from the beginning of their first innings as Indian bowlers prevented any batter from settling at the crease. Avisha Samash was dismissed after scoring only 9 runs, while Senuja Wekunagoda returned to the pavilion after contributing just 5 runs. Captain Vimat Dinsara also failed to make an impact, scoring only 8 runs.
Dimantha Mahavithana attempted to build momentum but could not convert his start into a big score, getting dismissed after making 24 runs from 29 deliveries. Kavija Gamage faced 34 balls but managed only 7 runs. Viran Chamuditha scored 21 runs from 35 deliveries, while Dulnith Sigera was bowled by Rohit Yadav for 31 runs. Jason Fernando faced 13 deliveries but failed to open his account.
Seven Sri Lankan batters failed to cross double figures as the Indian bowling attack maintained complete control. Four Indian bowlers claimed two wickets each. Pranav Raghavendra produced an impressive spell, taking two wickets while conceding 28 runs in 10 overs. Chigurupati Venkat also picked up two wickets after giving away 27 runs. Rohit Yadav continued his excellent form, taking two wickets while conceding only 14 runs.
Earlier, India Under-19 posted a strong first innings total of 411 runs before being bowled out. Manal Chauhan played a brilliant innings, scoring 150 runs with the help of 20 fours and one six. Kushagra Ojha also produced a remarkable century, scoring 111 runs from 193 deliveries with 12 fours and two sixes. However, he missed out on a bigger score after being dismissed through a run-out.
India Under-19’s dominant batting display followed by a disciplined bowling performance has placed the team in a commanding position in the second unofficial Test. The 263-run first innings advantage highlights India’s control over the match and puts significant pressure on Sri Lanka Under-19 as the contest moves forward.
